The co-host of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.realitytea.com\/tag\/today\/\" id=\"41508\">Today<\/a> on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.realitytea.com\/tag\/nbc\/\" id=\"28793\">NBC<\/a> has been absent from the anchor chair all week since news of her mother <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.realitytea.com\/tag\/nancy-guthrie\/\" id=\"51076\">Nancy\u2019s<\/a> <\/strong>disappearance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Gayle, who anchors CBS Mornings, was extremely teary eyed on the air Thursday. Savannah and her siblings released a video on Wednesday pleading to the person who allegedly took their 84-year-old mom. The heartfelt message got Gayle choked up. Nancy was reported missing on Sunday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-savannah-guthrie-and-her-family-released-a-video-statement-to-nancy-guthrie-s-captor\">Savannah Guthrie and her family released a video statement to Nancy Guthrie&#8217;s captor<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">\u201cOur mom is our heart and our home\u201d: \u201cToday\u201d show co-host Savannah Guthrie and her siblings pleaded for their mother\u2019s return in an emotional video posted to social media on Wednesday, asking for proof of life for Nancy Guthrie.<br><br>The 84-year-old was abducted from her Tucson,\u2026 <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/MIhdOeNxKu\">pic.twitter.com\/MIhdOeNxKu<\/a><\/p>&mdash; CBS Mornings (@CBSMornings) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/CBSMornings\/status\/2019397549988180385?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">February 5, 2026<\/a><\/blockquote><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Nancy\u2019s disappearance has touched many people. Thursday\u2019s edition of CBS Morning began very differently from normal. Gayle addressed the situation with Savannah\u2019s mom. \u201cIt is an unimaginable situation for the Guthrie family.\u201d Gayle admits in the video that \u201cSavannah just got to me where she says \u2018mommy.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There is genuine concern at this stage for Nancy\u2019s wellbeing seeing as she is 84 and lives alone. Savannah says that her heart isn\u2019t strong and that she requires daily medication. The Today anchor also said that they are ready to talk to whoever may have kidnapped Nancy. She did, however, add the stipulation that they want <a href=\"https:\/\/www.realitytea.com\/2026\/02\/05\/savannah-guthrie-video-statement-mom-nancy-kidnapping\/\">proof of life<\/a> before that can happen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Gayle says that looking at all the pictures between Savannah and Nancy that have gone public is extremely emotional, knowing what\u2019s happening. Like many, she is struggling to make sense of all of this. Gayle and Savannah have often been friendly with one another throughout their lengthy careers in journalism.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos said this week he believed Nancy is still alive. A ransom note reportedly asking for millions of dollars in Bitcoin was sent to a news outlet. It eventually made its way to the Sheriff\u2019s office before they turned it over to the FBI.
