The mother of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.realitytea.com\/tag\/today\/\" id=\"41508\">Today<\/a> co-host <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.realitytea.com\/tag\/savannah-guthrie\/\" id=\"11856\">Savanah Guthrie<\/a> <\/strong>was reported missing on Sunday. Pima County police are treating it as a criminal act, with a reported ransom note being sent to a local news outlet in Arizona.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Reporter Mary Coleman at KOLD News got to read that note before it was handed over to the police. She recently shared her thoughts on its legitimacy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-the-alleged-ransom-note-supposedly-gave-very-sensitive-information-about-nancy-guthrie-s-disappearance\">The alleged ransom note supposedly gave &#8220;very sensitive information&#8221; about Nancy Guthrie&#8217;s disappearance<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-9-16 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" style=\"--aspect-ratio:0.56266666666667;\" title=\"Anchor who saw possible ransom note on details only a captor would know\" width=\"422\" height=\"750\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/DxodHYqg6Do?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The alleged taking of Nancy may have actually happened. In an interview with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.realitytea.com\/tag\/cnn\/\" id=\"10681\">CNN<\/a>, Mary explained why the ransom note could be legit. She says there was \u201cA lot of it is information that only someone who was holding her for ransom would know.\u201d While she didn\u2019t share what the note contained, she did say that after a couple of sentences, it felt as though it wasn&#8217;t a hoax. In the note, she claims there was \u201cvery sensitive information.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mary says that the ransom note also featured a specific dollar amount and a deadline. The search has been going on for five days, but there are no suspects yet. On Wednesday, Savannah and her family <a href=\"https:\/\/www.realitytea.com\/2026\/02\/05\/savannah-guthrie-video-statement-mom-nancy-kidnapping\/\">released a video<\/a> saying they are ready to talk to whoever might have kidnapped Nancy once they receive proof of life. Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos previously said that he believed Nancy is alive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mary says that detectives reached out to their newsroom for more information upon receiving the ransom note. This was for them to search for the IP address, as it was sent to the KOLD News staff via e-mail. TMZ also claimed to have received a ransom note.
