Oh look, Bravo<\/a><\/strong> is coming in hot to try and smooth over another bad situation<\/a>. More and more it seems like the network might be more interested in ratings<\/a> than human beings<\/a>. And now people are taking note<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the latest debacle<\/a> involving sexual misconduct allegations<\/a>, Gary King<\/a><\/strong> has probably swabbed his last Below Deck<\/a>. It isn\u2019t enough that \u201centertainment\u201d is perceived as watching youthful yachties get blackout drunk and almost become victims of a crime. Also, this certainly isn\u2019t the first offense.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And you already know no one loves rewarding a criminal<\/a> more than Bravo. I would say their qualifications for employing felons are pretty vague. That said, the channel\u2019s new problem is Gary and they\u2019ve just released their standard stock statement. The Messenger<\/a> has the details.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rolling Stone dropped the dime<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Rolling Stone<\/a> had an in-depth article<\/a> regarding all things Gary and the allegations against him. Below Deck has been in the spotlight lately due to recent episodes showing a crew member avoiding sexual assault only because the production crew stepped in. It seems like the show has a bigger problem than we thought.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Bravo is committed to maintaining a safe and respectful<\/a> workplace for cast and crew on our reality shows.\u201d Golly, that sounds so familiar. Where have I heard that before? Oh I know, it sounds remarkably like the statement Shed Media<\/a> released after the Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip<\/a> scandal<\/a> surrounding Caroline Manzo<\/a> and Brandi Glanville<\/a>. As a reminder, both Bravo and Peacock fly out of NBCUniversal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But is<\/em> Bravo committed to maintaining a safe and respectful workplace? One could go back<\/a> to 2014 and Millionaire Matchmaker<\/a>. John Bonavia was charged with battery<\/a> against a woman and ultimately arrested for attempted murder. Another MM suitor was detained in 2015 “in connection with the alleged rape of two women” at his residence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bravo has been dealing with this for YEARS<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

There was also a guy<\/a> on Southern Charm who faced allegations<\/a> of assaulting someone\u2019s mother after a 2015 Tinder date. Oddly enough, he managed to stay on the show until 2018<\/a> when he ALLEGEDLY offended on another occasion<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Does anyone want to talk about Naked Wasted<\/a> and a safe environment? So Bravo\u2019s \u201cstatement\u201d leaves a lot to be desired since it appears to consistently cover bad behavior. And yet, where is the accountability for hiring these people?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Bravo media rep added, \u201cWe require our third-party production companies to have appropriate workplace policies and trainings in place and a clear process on how to report concerns.\u201d Back in my day, we called that passing the buck.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We\u2019ll have to see what decisions are made regarding Gary\u2019s current status. Obviously, there are problems, but they aren\u2019t just Below Deck problems. Stay tuned.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
