She&#8217;s actually looking forward to her next doctor visit and believes her upcoming scan will show improvement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Following the reveal of her breast cancer in February, Katie openly shared her treatment journey. Even though by March her cancer had <a href=\"https:\/\/www.realitytea.com\/2025\/03\/26\/reality-tv-bachelorette-katie-thurston-breast-cancer-stage-4\/\">progressed to stage four<\/a>, she got good news in July. Since learning that her tumors had shrunk, the Bachelor Nation star is hoping for additional optimistic news at her next checkup.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-katie-thurston-is-very-optimistic-for-her-six-month-scan\">Katie Thurston is &#8220;very optimistic&#8221; for her six-month scan<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" style=\"--aspect-ratio:1.7777777777778;\" title=\"Katie Thurston&quot;Very Optimistic&quot; Amid Breast Cancer Battle | E! News\" width=\"720\" height=\"405\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/XxBzazA8_Mk?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI&#8217;m doing good, all things considered,\u201d she told <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eonline.com\/news\/1423697\/katie-thurston-on-breast-cancer-scan-diagnosis\">E! News<\/a> at The Pink Agenda\u2019s 18th annual New York City Gala October 9. \u201cI actually get my six-month scan on Monday, so I feel very optimistic about it.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the midst of her cancer journey, the <a href=\"\/tag\/bachelorette\">Bachelorette<\/a> alum married Jeff Arcuri in March. Since then, he has been a huge source of strength and courage for her.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cYou can&#8217;t face cancer alone,\u201d she confessed. \u201cYou really have to rely on your friends and family. And to have someone who&#8217;s your partner, who&#8217;s right there with you every step of the way? It&#8217;s meant everything.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition, cancer has changed Katie&#8217;s view of the world, forcing her to look at things through a different lens. \u201cI&#8217;ve realized you never know what someone is going through,\u201d she admitted. \u201cI find that I&#8217;m more patient with strangers. If someone is driving too slow or grumpy, you don&#8217;t know what they&#8217;re going through in their own life. And so I just feel like I&#8217;m more kind.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the meantime, Katie is supporting cancer events such as The Pink Agenda&#8217;s gala, which raised $340,000 for breast cancer research and care.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Active in the world of cancer warriors, Katie sat down with <a href=\"\/tag\/teddi-mellencamp\">Teddi Mellencamp<\/a> on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.realitytea.com\/2025\/08\/27\/teddi-mellencamp-katie-thurston-discuss-health-struggles\/\">Two T&#8217;s in a Pod<\/a> in August. Though Teddi was previously diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer, following intense treatment her doctors now say she has &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.realitytea.com\/2025\/10\/03\/teddi-mellencamp-health-cancer-update-october-2025\/\">no detectable cancer<\/a>.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Katie hopes to get the same news soon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.detpress.com\/abc\/shows\/the-bachelorette\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">The Bachelorette<\/a>&nbsp;Season 22 premieres on ABC in 2026.
